~ In the beginning God created fireflies ~

Photobucket

My heart was fluttering with joy when I saw Ella reading the bible to her bottled up fireflies. Wasn't it sweet that she cared enough to pull the yellow and green sofa from her playhouse and set them up in proper manner to listen? Although, I didn't ask, do you think that sofa might just be a church pew? As a parent, I feel we can never do enough to teach our children about the Lord and the importance of following him. It is an understatement to say I have a lot of work to do, as I am still growing and learning. Ella has had great interest in learning about Jesus this summer and reading her bible. From her 4 year old perspective the bible is all about sharing and listening to your parents. You have to start somewhere, right? She asked me last week how we get to heaven? As I begin to explain, she interrupts with great confidence and says "I know, we could take an airplane!" As a preschooler, I hope for her to become familiar with the terminology, stories, and people of the bible. Over the past few months Daddy has read from a children's devotional book every night at bedtime. This little book of preschool devotions has been such a special gift for our family. Ella looks forward to her nightly devotions. My greatest hope for this little gal is that her faith and love for God will be such that it will get her through all that she is dealt and that she feels the need to share his word with everyone, including the fireflies.~

~ It's Time To Get My Blog On ~

It is time to jump on the wagon and join the rest of you in blogland. I have enjoyed reading and stalking many blogs during the past six months so I decided it is time to give it a try.

I am thankful and blessed that my husband is able to provide support, encouragement, and the opportunity for me to be a stay at home mama of one sweet, but sassy little gal. I enjoy everything child! Children's duds, crafting, toys, decorating, playing, party throwing and anything else that states "12 and under on the box". I have a formal background in child development, but it sure is a lot more interesting on an informal level while playing the role of a mama. I hope this can be a scrapbook for my little one to look back and reflect upon her, mine and our family's legacy.
